After puberty, men and women begin to lose about 1 percent of their bone and muscle strength every year. The best way to stop, prevent, and even reverse bone and muscle loss is to add weight training to your workouts. Strength training has been proven to help regulate blood sugar levels (diabetes), increase flexibility, create a better posture, develop balance and coordination, reduce anxiety/depression, improve self-esteem, and boost metabolism (resulting in fat loss).
